Football fields may be empty and the games may be on hold right now due to coronavirus, but a group of moms is trying to use the game to uplift people’s spirits anyway.
Mothers of NFL players across the country put together a video of themselves posing with footballs and wearing their son’s NFL and college jerseys.
Southern Regional Coordinator, Tarralyn Jones lives in Oviedo, Florida. Her son Christian Jones plays for the Detroit Lions.
Jones says video is part of a “Don’t Rush Challenge,” and is designed, in part, to lighten the mood in a time when so many people are dealing with some difficult circumstances. But it’s also to encourage people to not rush back into things that we miss due to social distancing too soon, so we can all stay safe.
“The ‘Do Not Rush Challenge’ means what it says: Do not rush,” Jones said. “We need to take our time and follow all of the precautionary measures to stay safe … yet have fun.”
